In our first class, we will explore how meditation can be a completely natural and effortless experience when we find doorways that are easily accessible to us. By taking a relaxed approach—whether exploring profound experiences or attending to subtle skills like mindful breathing or sensory awareness—we experience meditation as a natural extension of what we already cherish.

Class 2: Honoring Your Natural Rhythm

In this class, we honor your natural rhythm, letting go of judgment and welcoming all thoughts and sensations as part of a light, open-hearted meditation practice that feels authentic and comfortable. You will practice welcoming the movement of your awareness through thoughts, feelings, and sensations as completely natural and an ongoing part of your integration.

Class 3: Attending to Senses, Emotions, and Connections

We explore embracing sensations and emotions as part of an effortless practice, treating meditation as a journey through shifting experiences. We welcome the experiences that arise in our practice as we attend to our relationships and connections.

In our final class, we hone in on self-compassion, welcoming all emotions, and non-judgment. We'll explore how to be kinder to ourselves in meditation, accept whatever arises, and observe without judgment. We'll also touch on inner landscapes and integrating the different parts of ourselves.

Meet Your Guide

Image

Dr. Lorin Roche is a founder of Instinctive Meditation and a pioneer in developing personalized meditation practices. Lorin was awarded a PhD from the University of California for his work on the inner experience of meditation. His books on meditation, including The Radiance Sutras, are treasured by meditation practitioners across the globe and have been widely recognized as a "must-read".

Lorin started meditating in a physiology lab at the University of California in 1968, and for the next 20 years he participated in research into how meditation helps the body cope with stress. He was trained as a meditation teacher in the yoga tradition in 1969-1970 and has been teaching ever since.
