The Instinctive Adolescent

Training and Practice Space for Youth, Families, Educators, and Mentors

November 10 - December 15, 2025

A six-week co-created Instinctive Meditation practice space for all ages

Facilitated by Jordan Grinstein and a community of co-generational musicians, artists, dancers, mentors, school leaders, educators, coaches, children, and parents

Explore an Intergenerational Approach to Instinctive Meditation®

Image

Meditation is not one-size-fits-all. For adolescents especially, it’s a living, instinctive process — a way to tune into the body’s intelligence, listen to emotions as allies, and discover one’s natural rhythm of rest, renewal, and return to action.

This program brings together student leaders, parents, educators, and meditation mentors in an intergenerational learning space. Together, we experience the transformative power of instinctive meditation as taught by teenagers and other community leaders.

If you are a parent and want to attend the course with your children (ages 10-17), you can all join for the price of one registration.

Discover instinctive meditation through the voices of adolescents, educators, and mentors — learn, teach, evolve together

“Decades of research and personal experience have been distilled and are generously offered as Instinctive Meditation. These teachings are life-affirming, joyous explorations of the experience of being alive. It’s truly liberating to discover my own unique pathways into a natural meditative state.”

Liz Lester
Teacher, Artist, Grandmother

Cocreating Tomorrow with Young Voices and Ancient Wisdom

Image

Meditation is not a set of rigid rules — it’s a living, breathing practice that adapts to the unique rhythms of our lives. This is an invitation for adolescents, parents, educators, and community members to join a six-week exploration of Instinctive Meditation (IM). Guided by the brilliance of young people already leading this work in their schools and communities, this program is based on decades of scientific evidence and the timelessness of ancient wisdom.

This is a rare chance to experience meditation as it is lived by youth — fresh, raw, embodied, and real — alongside seasoned mentors, educators, and artists. People of all ages have secret life teachings and adolescence is a unique developmental juncture of getting to know ourselves by identifying our preferences, needs, & desires. This aligns precisely with Instinctive Meditation, which hinges on truly knowing oneself and what brings us bliss, joy and dimension.

Adolescents and adults come together to co-create and explore uniquely tailored meditation practices that feel alive, natural, and empowering. Young teachers share how they practice, what works for them, and how IM supports their friendships, family life, creativity, and ability to navigate challenges.

Alongside them, educators and mentors offer guidance from years of supporting student wellness and meditation programs. These include parents and professional adults sharing about how IM supports their lives and relationships. Together, we explore archetypal energies, instinctive wisdom, and the art of welcoming all parts of ourselves.

This is about “learning meditation” in a way of discovery, following passion/joy, and realizing meditation is already woven into your instincts, your cravings for rest and connection, and your natural rhythms of movement, stillness, rebellion, and belonging

Enjoy Meditation That Is Effortless

Getting through the day is effort enough without meditation being another draining to-do. Effective meditation is rejuvenating, healing, and enlivening. By experiencing these qualities, you don’t have to ‘should’ your way to your practice. You love it so much you want to come back for more.
Image

Discover Meditation That Is Natural

Your being already knows how to meditate – it is an innate response to the body and soul’s need to restore. Learning to meditate isn’t a process of adding something new but instead a process of removing the blockages to your natural meditative states.
Image

Embrace Meditation That Is Welcoming

We often spend our day in conflict with ourselves. Meditative rules and values aren’t meant to further divide us. By welcoming all of our thoughts and feelings, we begin to heal inner division and discover unity and peace.
“One student said, ‘I will just breathe and not get so mad next time.’ Another said, ‘I will use different language.’ These may seem like small statements, but they have not displayed any introspection before this.”

— Middle School Assistant Principal

Course Overview

A 6-week collaborative exploration

November 10 - December 15, 2025

In these six weeks together, participants dive into a transformative exploration guided by the vibrant energy of young people shaping our future. You’ll discover the principles of Instinctive Meditation®, a dynamic practice that resonates deeply with adolescents, empowering them to manage stress, regulate emotions, enhance performance, and navigate relationships with confidence. Through hands-on practice, you’ll experience how this living, breathing approach to meditation aligns with the natural rhythms of youth, fostering resilience and connection in their daily lives.

Led by young teachers alongside seasoned educators and mentors, this program harnesses the power of peer-to-peer learning, where adolescents share their authentic experiences and insights. You’ll engage in a shared dialogue, co-creating meditation practices that feel alive and relevant, while exploring an archetypal lens that connects meditation to universal human patterns. Together, we’ll uncover how meditation is not just a tool but a vital part of daily life, woven into the instincts and aspirations of the next generation shaping our collective future.

Live Classes: We meet each Monday for a 2 hour session from 4pm - 6pm PT/7pm - 9pm ET with an optional 30 minute Q&A at the end of each session. The main session includes guided practice, group discussion, breakout groups, and tools for applying Instinctive Meditation in daily life. Classes are recorded and made available on demand.

Online Platform: Weekly access to readings, video practices, reflection prompts, and a private space for questions and sharing.

Guest Facilitators: Special sessions with youth leaders, educators, and meditation mentors offering diverse perspectives and skills.

Certificate of Completion: Awarded at the end of the 6-week journey.

Week 1: Instincts of the Archetypes

Nov 10, 2025 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET

“Meeting ourselves in the living archetypes of the human journey.”

Youth and adults share what meditation means to them, what keeps them inspired, and how the instincts can be guides to a rich life. We explore archetypal energies — student, teacher, rebel, parent, creator — and explore ways to honor all the brilliant parts of ourselves

Week 2: Power, Rhythm & Flow

Nov 17, 2025 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET

“Every instinct has wisdom — even resistance.”

Explore how our inner power expresses itself through rhythm and the natural push-and-pull of life. See how resistance, compliance, stress and relaxation are wisdom opposites that need and support each other. Through story and movement, we’ll discover how tuning into these rhythms can help the flow of a creative and courageous life.

Session 3: (Dis)Comfort & Cravings

Nov 24, 2025 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET

“Your body already knows how to meditate.”

Adolescents lead us through reflections on what they crave throughout their tumultuous lives. We practice listening to the body’s natural calls and discover how instinctive cravings are revelatory of what we need, value and our natural doorways of renewal.

Session 4: Emotional Spark, the Longing to Belong

Dec 1, 2025 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET

“Every feeling belongs here.”

Fear, anger, grief, playfulness, and joy are not obstacles — they are doorways. Share how instinctive meditation helps navigate intensity, tension, and release. We welcome emotions as powerful currents to heal, guide & transform us.

Session 5: Discover and Share Gifts

Dec 8, 2025 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET

“Always teacher, always student.”

This week, adolescents and adults design and practice guiding experiences for each other. We share our most beloved techniques and discover the joy of teaching through dialogue, play, and mutual support.

Jordan Falcon

Meditation Teacher

Jordan guides teens and adults to explore their minds, embrace their emotions, and build resilience through meditation, reflection, and element-based practices. He first discovered meditation in 8th grade, when it opened new ways of seeing his mind and imagining the person he wanted to become. Over time, he learned to connect emotions with the elements — fire, water, earth, air, and space — transforming feelings into teachers rather than burdens. Watching his students grow in confidence, clarity, and self-awareness continues to remind him of meditation’s power to support daily life and the lifelong journey of becoming one’s true self.
