This is a map of the process of recovery, based on thousands of hours of interviews with meditators. Memorize these phases and learn to understand them intellectually, the way one gives rise to the next.
You can take your time and feel your way. Your everyday map, that you use to flow with your inner experience can be simply, "now I am resting, now I am healing, now I am savoring the excitement of action." The Triple Shakti Model.

The 8 Flow map is here for you to call on when you get stuck, or need to reinvent your approach to meditation, and when you are teaching.
It is always confounding to experience that relaxation leads to release of stress, and in this release, we often relive what we are stressed about. Everyone hates this process. and at the same time when you understand what's going on, you also learn to love it, because this is Freedom, this is the body going through the process of repair work, so that it can regain its freedom to live fully.

Recovery is what bodies do when we give them a chance As we are meditating, we sometimes enter states of restfulness that are deeper than sleep, states of relaxation that are deeper than sleep, and this allows for deeper repair work.
In this 8 flow map we are identifying the phases the body-mind system goes through as we are recovering.
There is an infinity of novelty we experience as we flow. For example, as we remember what we love, we might rest in the current of pranashakti for just one heartbeat, and then be flooded with excitement. On a technical level, we are resting in that we have given this time to meditation, and aren't doing anything else. Physiologically we are in a restful parasympathetic state in our inner experience we are savoring the thrill of aliveness.
